First of all, I've absolutely loved the fic, I love how you write them interacting with eachother. Secondly, I'd love to hear more about your lube research because from what I've gathered Vaseline was invented in 1872, but it became a popular lubricant in the mid 1900's and the first comercial lube was invented in 1904.
Thanks for your fic!
I full body CACKLED at this ask 🤣 thank you for liking my fic! It means the world to me that people are liking it!
As for the research…
I am no historian by ANY means, so I just waved my hand around some technical things and made up a rhetoric for myself:
If one person from this couple is a more seasoned veteran on being gay, he’d know more about **things**
Said person is not rich (by the era standards) but he’s probably got good connections in a community that is marginalized and persecuted (meaning, they’ve got each other’s backs and would help out with almost anything, to their abilities)
Probably has had more than 1 partner in the past so it’s trial and error, practice makes perfect, and experience mixed all together
Taking all of this into consideration… while yes, petroleum jelly was **just** invented but hadn’t actually gained a popular status in the market, what were other historically known substances used prior to its invention?
Oils.
And Henry could probably get his hands on some better quality ones (both by his presence as a photographer and how alluring people used to find that profession [ie. payment through services or favors/products for **explicit** photography]). So think, more than the cooking olive oil or oils you’d find in a kitchen, he’d probably have access to things like clove oil or even hemp seed oil. Maybe even GOOD quality ones that come from outside England (importing them would’ve made them wayyy more expensive, but if poppy sold for cheaper than bread, surely some seller would sell nice oils for a more affordable price).
… or they could’ve easily raw-dogged it and used saliva.
#all this to say#in the throes of passion who knows what they might’ve done#you know what other type of research I did?#preservatives.#yes I did look up the history of c*ondoms#I have sooo much respect for s*x historians haha#bodies netflix#ask in the box#alex talks

Ashton Declan (he/him). District Eleven Mentor. 113 Victor. Twenty-seven. Julian Morris.
tw: description of violence, death
While not technically an only child, most of Ashton's childhood was spent as one. His younger sister – born nine years after he was. He grew up fast, the default caretaker of the home, between taking care of his sister and helping his mother. When he wasn't at school, helping his mother, or taking care of his sister, he often found himself working with his father, fishing, hand weaving nets, and learning to sail. This left him little time for much else; the friendships he had were few and far between but well-maintained. He always looked forward to days when his father was off work, where he had just a bit more free time.
Fishing was a lucrative enough trade, and hand-woven nets fetched a pretty penny on the market. Though he and the rest of his family wanted much, they very seldom went without the bare necessities. They never had to take tesserae, and they often didn't have to worry about the hunger games or the reapings, either. District 4, being somewhat of a career district, usually had volunteers to take the places of the names called on.
This didn't put all of Ashton's worries to rest, though. The topic of the games was a source of anxiety, rumination, and nightmares. He was terrified of the reaping, as he thought any sensible person should be. Even if he could talk himself down from the idea of his name being drawn, watching people die on screen was nightmare fuel enough. Every year he crossed his fingers till his grasp was white-knuckled and waited ...prayed... that his name would not be called. Until one bitterly cold morning, his name was called, and there were no volunteers to step up and take his place. Every year after winning, he's worried his sister will have the same thing happen to her.
The games started and ended quickly that year, suspended on a mountain above the clouds. Fortunately for Ashton, he was able to push his way into the career pack. He had good looks and a sincerity that made him stand out from other tributes in career districts. In his private presentation, he earned a solid score of 8 with his spear-throwing skills.
The energy of the career pack that year was volatile. A fight started after the bloodbath over a stray shove. If Hermes, a career from 2, hadn't been there to talk everyone down, he's sure the group wouldn't have lasted longer than two hours. But that didn't save them later that day, when Ash's district partner, Sirena, instigated a fight between the careers from two. Silence fell over the camp as Hermes was gutted, dragged off from camp, and thrown off the mountain. In all twelve tributes died on the first day.
Midnight gave way to massive lightning storms. Tucked away in a temple of Zeus, they were protected against the elements. Ashton slept with one eye open that night. When it came time for him to take watch he and a tribute from 1, made a decision tie Sirena up and throw into the lightning storm. The cannon woke up the other district 1 tribute. That's when it dawned on Ashton that he had to split off from the pack. There were five people left in the arena, including the three that were now left of the career pack.
In the early hours of the morning, Ashton left the temple with his backpack, a half-empty canteen, a handful of spears, a trident, and a coil of hemp rope. Only hours later was he facing off in the finale between the two other surviving tributes. Ashton won by spearing the district 6 tribute in the stomach and shoving her into the river Styx.
He collapsed to his knees when the final cannon sounded. Blood was already on his hands, but that was the first time he had used his own.
His games planted a seed of rebellion that wouldn’t awaken for many years. Though, with every cannon that sounded, brought a sense of almost divine clarity: the capitol was the reason they were even here in the first place. Upon returning home, Ash grew distant, isolating himself from the people who loved him most. In recent years he has tried to mend those bridges. Ashton has PTSD that mainly manifests as irritability and hallucinations. He also suffers from depression and substance abuse issues.
He spent many years as a mentor for a career district, it took him some time to understand careers and be an effective mentor for them. However, after all these years, he’s still blown away by some of the shit he hears. After stewing on the idea for some time, he finally started mentoring for another district (district 11) at the start of 132. He still plans to train for the career academy during the games off seasons. As a mentor he is understanding, but he doesn’t sugarcoat things. He excels as a mentor when he’s dealing with tributes that find themselves in a similar position to his. Overall, it is important to him that his tributes and students know they can come to him with anything. Mentoring has caused him lots of heartache over the years. Whether from the loss of students that grew up training under him or from losing reaped tributes that he couldn’t save.
+ nurturing, loyal, determined
- stubborn, cynical, haunted

The Ultimate Guide to Protein Powder with Fiber Organic: Best Plant-Based Protein Powders
Why Choose Protein Powder with Fiber Organic?
The incorporation of both protein and fiber into a single supplement offers a variety of advantages that go beyond what traditional protein powders provide. Let’s explore why opting for protein powder with fiber organic is a great choice for many:
1. Supports Digestive Health
Fiber is a vital nutrient for digestion. It helps regulate bowel movements, prevents constipation, and promotes overall gut health. Adding fiber to your protein powder ensures that you’re not just fueling your muscles, but also supporting your digestive system.
2. Helps with Weight Management
Protein and fiber are both satiating, meaning they help you feel fuller for longer. This is especially beneficial for anyone looking to lose or maintain weight, as they can curb hunger and reduce the likelihood of overeating. By choosing a plant-based protein powder with fiber, you’re taking a step towards a more balanced approach to nutrition.
3. Sustainable Energy Source
Protein provides your body with the building blocks it needs for muscle repair and growth, while fiber helps regulate blood sugar levels. Together, these nutrients offer a stable and sustained release of energy, avoiding those dreaded energy crashes that can come from processed sugars or low-quality protein sources.
4. Cleaner, Organic Ingredients
Choosing organic protein powder with fiber means you’re getting a product free from pesticides, chemicals, and genetically modified organisms (GMOs). Organic plant-based proteins, such as pea, hemp, or brown rice protein, are a cleaner alternative to conventional whey protein, especially for those sensitive to dairy or looking for more sustainable sourcing.
Best Plant-Based Protein Powders with Fiber
When it comes to choosing the best plant based protein powder with fiber, it’s important to focus on quality ingredients, flavor, and nutritional content. Here are some top contenders in the market:
1. Orgain Organic Protein + Superfoods
Orgain’s Organic Protein + Superfoods is a fantastic option for those looking for a clean, plant-based protein powder. This powder blends organic pea protein with fiber from chia seeds, providing a well-rounded nutritional profile. It’s available in delicious flavors like vanilla, chocolate, and peanut butter, making it a versatile addition to smoothies, shakes, and baked goods. In addition to fiber, it contains a blend of superfoods, adding antioxidants and micronutrients to your diet.
2. Vega Sport Premium Protein + Fiber
Vega is known for its commitment to plant-based nutrition, and their Sport Premium Protein + Fiber is no exception. This product contains a blend of pea, pumpkin seed, and organic sunflower seed proteins. It’s designed to fuel athletes, but anyone looking for a high-quality protein powder with fiber will appreciate its clean ingredients. With 3 grams of fiber per serving and 30 grams of protein, it provides the perfect balance of macronutrients.
3. Garden of Life Raw Organic Protein + Fiber
Garden of Life offers a wide range of organic products, and their Raw Organic Protein + Fiber is a standout. This vegan protein powder combines organic sprouted protein from pea, chia, and flax with fiber-rich ingredients like organic acacia fiber. It’s a great option for those who prefer a raw, minimally processed powder. Plus, it contains a comprehensive profile of vitamins, minerals, and probiotics, making it excellent for overall health.
4. KOS Organic Plant-Based Protein Powder
KOS Organic Plant-Based Protein Powder is another great choice, offering a smooth and tasty formula that blends organic pea protein, quinoa, and pumpkin seed protein. Each serving delivers 4 grams of fiber from organic inulin, a prebiotic fiber that helps with gut health. With flavors like chocolate and vanilla, KOS ensures that your protein shake is not only nutritious but also indulgent.
5. Tera’s Whey Organic Plant Protein Powder
Key Factors to Consider When Choosing Protein Powder with Fiber
To help you make an informed decision, here are some factors to consider when choosing the best plant-based protein powder with fiber:
1. Fiber Source
Not all fiber is created equal. Look for a protein powder that contains a blend of soluble and insoluble fiber. Soluble fiber helps manage blood sugar levels, while insoluble fiber aids in digestion and adds bulk to stool. Ingredients like chia seeds, flax seeds, and acacia fiber are excellent sources of fiber.
2. Protein Content
The ideal protein content depends on your individual needs. For general wellness and light exercise, 15–20 grams of protein per serving is sufficient. However, athletes or those focused on muscle building might opt for powders with 25 grams or more of protein per serving.
3. Organic Certification
For the cleanest and most sustainable option, always choose an organic protein powder. Organic certification ensures that the ingredients were grown without harmful pesticides, synthetic fertilizers, or GMOs, making it a healthier choice for your body and the environment.
4. Taste and Mixability
Taste is subjective, but when you’re consuming protein powder regularly, it’s important that you enjoy it. Many plant-based protein powders have a slightly earthy or nutty flavor, so finding one that blends well and tastes good is essential. Check for customer reviews and recommendations to find the best tasting options.
Final Thoughts
Protein powder with fiber organic is a powerful tool in achieving a balanced diet, promoting digestive health, and maintaining energy levels throughout the day. Whether you’re an athlete, a fitness enthusiast, or simply someone looking for a clean, nutritious supplement, there’s a plant-based protein powder with fiber out there for you.
By opting for the best plant-based protein powder with fiber, like those from Orgain, Vega, or Garden of Life, you’re not only supporting your muscles but also nourishing your gut. With so many fantastic options available, you can feel confident in choosing a high-quality, organic protein powder that aligns with your dietary preferences and lifestyle.

Danny Ford: A Legacy Beyond the Gridiron
Danny Ford's legacy at Clemson University remains one of excellence, resilience, and inspiration. Serving as the Tigers’ head coach from 1978 to 1989, Ford left an indelible mark on college football, securing Clemson’s first national championship in 1981. However, Ford’s influence extends far beyond his coaching achievements. After his departure from football, Ford embraced a unique path, one that intertwined his roots in farming with his commitment to community and the Clemson spirit. Today, he is celebrated not only as a former coach but also as a dedicated farmer, mentor, and philanthropist.
Ford's Football Glory at Clemson
Revolutionizing Clemson's Football Program
Ford became Clemson's head coach in 1978, transforming the program with his disciplined, results-oriented coaching style. Leading Clemson to its first national title in 1981, Ford quickly gained recognition for his impressive achievements:
Youngest Coach: At just 33 years old, Ford became the youngest head coach to win a national championship.
ACC Dominance: Ford secured five Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) titles during his tenure, solidifying Clemson’s position as a powerhouse in college football.
Player Development: His mentorship fostered the growth of 21 NFL players and developed numerous All-Americans, reinforcing Clemson as a breeding ground for talent.
Ford’s success wasn’t just about winning games; it was about instilling values of teamwork, resilience, and community in his players.
Challenges and Departure from Coaching
In 1990, Ford’s relationship with Clemson administration took a turn, primarily due to disagreements and controversies surrounding NCAA recruiting practices. While Ford was not directly implicated, the strain with Clemson officials ultimately led to his resignation. Despite leaving the gridiron, Ford’s connection to Clemson and his players remained strong. Many still speak highly of his mentorship and enduring impact on their lives.
Transitioning from Football to Farming
Embracing a New Way of Life
After stepping down from his coaching career, Ford turned to farming in Central, South Carolina, near Clemson University. For Ford, farming wasn’t just an occupation; it was a return to his roots. He credits childhood visits to his uncle’s farm with sparking a lifelong love for agriculture, a passion that stayed with him through his coaching years.
Ford's Eco-Friendly Approach
Ford's farming practices emphasize sustainability, an ethos that aligns with his dedication to learning and growth. His 174-acre farm is home to various livestock, including cows and horses, and greenhouses that cultivate vegetables. His agricultural pursuits extend to the cutting-edge cultivation of hemp, a crop he began growing under South Carolina’s Industrial Hemp Pilot Program:
Hemp Farming: As an early adopter, Ford faced challenges in the competitive CBD market, planting 54,000 seeds across 170 rows. Despite the hurdles, he views hemp farming as an educational journey.
Innovative Techniques: Ford’s farming methods highlight his commitment to sustainable practices, including crop management techniques that enhance soil quality and environmental health.
Philanthropy and Community Involvement
Ford’s Commitment to Youth Development
In addition to his agricultural pursuits, Ford has dedicated significant time to philanthropy. He actively participates in community programs and educational initiatives, particularly those aimed at empowering youth through sports and education. His efforts include:
Youth Sports Programs: Ford supports sports programs that provide young athletes with resources and guidance, aiming to foster both athletic and personal growth.
Educational Initiatives: He has contributed to educational programs in his community, helping to create opportunities for young people to succeed academically and in life.
Mentorship and Giving Back
Ford’s dedication to mentorship extends beyond his days on the sideline. He continues to offer guidance to young athletes, emphasizing the importance of hard work and perseverance. His transition from coach to mentor reflects his belief in fostering a supportive environment where future generations can thrive.
A Lasting Connection to Clemson
Maintaining the Clemson Spirit
Though he no longer coaches, Ford remains deeply connected to Clemson. He frequently attends games, reconnecting with former players, coaches, and alumni. For Ford, these gatherings are a cherished opportunity to celebrate his legacy and stay connected to the institution that shaped his career.
Reflection on Modern College Football
Ford has also expressed concerns regarding the current state of college football. He believes the increasing focus on player endorsements and financial incentives has altered the sport’s traditional values. Ford worries that the emphasis on profit may detract from teamwork and loyalty, core principles that he championed throughout his coaching career.
Conclusion
Danny Ford’s life journey from the gridiron to the farmland is a testament to his resilience, dedication, and commitment to growth. His contributions to Clemson football, his community, and agriculture embody a legacy built on hard work, perseverance, and service to others. Whether on the field or in the field, Ford’s impact continues to inspire, marking him as a true icon of Clemson’s history and a remarkable example of purpose-driven living.

Possession, sale, and cultivation of cannabis for recreational purposes are not allowed, though some exceptions exist based on small quantities for personal use.
For minor possession cases, the law tends to prioritize treatment and social rehabilitation over punitive measures. In practical terms, individuals caught with small amounts of cannabis for personal use are typically not prosecuted but may be referred to counseling services or receive warnings instead. However, possession of quantities exceeding these small, personal-use limits can result in severe penalties, including fines and potential imprisonment.
Cannabis for Medical Use
Since 2008, medical cannabis has been legally accessible in Austria under strict guidelines, primarily through prescriptions. This includes only certain cannabis-derived products that meet medical quality standards, typically restricted to THC-based medicinal products like Dronabinol and Nabilone.
Access to medical cannabis in Salzburg remains stringent. Patients must obtain a doctor’s prescription, and these prescriptions are typically limited to conditions for which conventional treatments have proven ineffective. Commonly approved conditions for medical cannabis include chronic pain, nausea from chemotherapy, and multiple sclerosis symptoms. Even then, the cost of these prescriptions is not fully covered by public health insurance, potentially limiting access.
The Legal Landscape of CBD
CBD, a non-psychoactive compound of the cannabis plant, occupies a different legal category in Austria. As long as CBD products contain less than 0.3% THC, they can be sold legally for non-consumable purposes. CBD products are widely available in Salzburg and across Austria, though they are often marketed as aromatherapy or beauty products to avoid legal complexities.
While CBD is not considered a narcotic, any marketing of CBD for therapeutic use (e.g., as a cure for anxiety) is heavily restricted. Retailers in Salzburg are cautious with how they promote CBD products, focusing on general wellness and avoiding health claims.
Cannabis Cultivation and Seeds
In Salzburg, as in the rest of Austria, cultivation of cannabis plants is permitted only if they are not intended for the extraction of THC. This means cannabis can legally be grown for decorative purposes. For example, some individuals cultivate hemp plants in gardens or greenhouses, but these plants are not allowed to flower, as flowering is associated with THC production.
The sale of cannabis seeds is legal, and they are sold as collectibles, souvenirs, or botanical specimens. This legal gray area has sparked interest in cultivation practices among hobbyists, though they must remain vigilant to avoid unintentional flowering or other indicators that their cultivation aims to produce THC.
Enforcement and Penalties
While cannabis remains illegal for recreational use, Austria’s law enforcement tends to emphasize treatment over punishment, especially for first-time offenders or small-scale possession. Repeat offenses or involvement in cannabis distribution can, however, lead to significant fines or imprisonment.
The Salzburg police have some discretion when handling cannabis cases, especially for young offenders, whom they may divert to counseling or therapy programs as part of a harm reduction approach. Nevertheless, non-Austrians and tourists should exercise caution, as they might not receive the same leniency, especially in public places or transportation hubs.
The Cannabis Industry and Future Perspectives
Though full legalization is not on the horizon, there is growing interest in Austria’s cannabis industry, especially in CBD and hemp production. This interest extends to Salzburg, where startups and entrepreneurs are exploring CBD-infused cosmetics, wellness products, and even hemp-based textiles.
Public opinion in Salzburg, as in much of Austria, appears to be warming towards the idea of regulated cannabis. Advocates argue that legalization and regulation could reduce black-market activities, generate tax revenue, and improve public safety. However, significant legal changes would likely require years of debate and approval at the national level.
In Salzburg, cannabis laws reflect Austria’s cautious yet adaptable stance on drug policy. Recreational cannabis remains illegal, with limited allowances for medical marijuana and a burgeoning CBD market. For tourists and residents alike, understanding these nuances is key to navigating Salzburg’s cannabis landscape responsibly.
As discussions around legalization continue across Europe, it’s possible that Salzburg may see further developments in cannabis policy.

How Nutraceutical Companies are Innovating with Plant-Based and Natural Ingredients
In recent years, the demand for natural, plant-based health solutions has surged as consumers become more health-conscious and environmentally aware. This trend is reshaping the nutraceutical industry, as nutraceutical companies increasingly focus on developing products made from natural and plant-based ingredients. From plant proteins and herbal extracts to probiotics and superfoods, these companies are innovating to meet consumer preferences for clean, sustainable, and effective health products. Here’s a look at how nutraceutical companies are leading the way with plant-based innovations and the impact it’s having on the industry.
1. Consumer Shift Toward Plant-Based and Natural Products
Consumer awareness about the benefits of natural and plant-based ingredients has grown significantly, driven by a desire to avoid synthetic additives and allergens often found in traditional supplements. Nutraceutical companies are responding by incorporating more natural ingredients that provide the same, if not greater, health benefits than synthetic alternatives.
According to recent surveys, more than 60% of consumers prefer supplements and nutraceuticals that are labeled as “natural” or “plant-based.” This shift is particularly evident among younger consumers and those committed to sustainable, eco-friendly lifestyles. As a result, nutraceutical companies are increasingly prioritizing plant-based formulations to cater to these demands, leading to a more diverse and innovative market.
2. Plant-Based Proteins and Superfoods in Nutraceuticals
One of the most prominent trends among nutraceutical companies is the rise of plant-based proteins and superfoods. Ingredients like pea protein, hemp protein, chia seeds, and spirulina are now widely used in protein supplements, energy bars, and meal replacements. These plant-based proteins not only offer a clean and allergen-free alternative to traditional animal-derived proteins but also provide additional health benefits, such as antioxidants and fiber.
Superfoods, such as turmeric, ginger, moringa, and acai, are being incorporated into nutraceutical products due to their high nutrient density and powerful health properties. Turmeric, for instance, is celebrated for its anti-inflammatory benefits, while moringa is packed with essential vitamins and minerals. By harnessing the power of superfoods, nutraceutical companies are offering consumers an effective and natural way to enhance their overall wellness.
3. Botanical Extracts and Herbal Supplements
Herbal supplements and botanical extracts are another area where nutraceutical companies are innovating with plant-based ingredients. Botanical extracts like ashwagandha, ginseng, green tea, and echinacea are popular for their adaptogenic properties, which help the body cope with stress and boost immunity. These extracts have been used in traditional medicine for centuries, and now nutraceutical companies are modernizing them by incorporating them into easy-to-consume forms, such as capsules, powders, and functional beverages.
For instance, ashwagandha has gained popularity as a natural stress reliever, while ginseng is valued for its energy-boosting properties. By including these botanicals in their formulations, nutraceutical companies provide consumers with access to traditional herbal remedies in convenient, standardized doses, helping to bridge the gap between natural wellness and modern lifestyles.
4. Focus on Clean Labels and Transparency
As the demand for plant-based nutraceuticals grows, consumers are also looking for transparency in labeling. Nutraceutical companies are embracing this by ensuring their products have “clean labels,” which list all ingredients clearly and avoid unnecessary fillers, artificial colors, and preservatives. Clean labeling has become a hallmark of high-quality nutraceuticals, giving consumers the confidence that they are choosing products with safe, natural, and effective ingredients.
For nutraceutical companies, clean labels and transparency not only improve brand reputation but also increase consumer trust and loyalty. By investing in quality sourcing, testing, and transparent labeling, companies reinforce their commitment to health and wellness, making their products more appealing in an increasingly competitive market.
5. Environmental Sustainability and Ethical Sourcing
Another significant factor driving plant-based innovation in nutraceutical companies is the focus on environmental sustainability. Plant-based ingredients often have a smaller ecological footprint compared to animal-based or synthetic counterparts. Companies are also committed to ethical sourcing practices, ensuring that ingredients are sustainably harvested and that fair-trade principles are upheld.
For example, many nutraceutical companies are sourcing ingredients like acai and maca from communities where these plants are traditionally grown. This not only supports the local economies but also preserves biodiversity and traditional agricultural practices. By prioritizing sustainability and ethical sourcing, nutraceutical companies align themselves with eco-conscious consumers who value the environmental impact of their purchasing choices.
Conclusion
The shift towards plant-based and natural ingredients is redefining the nutraceutical industry. By focusing on clean labels, transparency, and sustainable sourcing, nutraceutical companies are meeting the needs of today’s health-conscious and eco-aware consumers. Plant-based proteins, superfoods, herbal extracts, and natural botanicals are transforming the landscape of health supplements, offering effective, natural solutions that resonate with a modern audience.
As innovation continues, nutraceutical companies are expected to expand their plant-based offerings, creating products that not only promote health but also contribute to a more sustainable, ethical, and responsible industry. For consumers, this means access to a wider variety of clean, effective, and plant-powered wellness products that support both personal and planetary health.

made "i wish i was having beans poriyal from my favorite restaurant but i am financially responsible" with prepped rice and a bag of wilted green beans from the farmer's market. i fried them with a chili, mustard, coriander, and a little bit of curry powder. reduced heat. tossed in besan to significantly coat in lieu of dal (heartbreaking) and allowed to very briefly toast. followed up with finely chopped, unsweetened dried coconut, pumpkin seed, and hemp seed (not traditional, i just need the nutrients). i threw in tamari and sugar once the coconut browned to bring the texture together. im missing the curry leaves and texture of the dal. it's delicious for bringing a vision to life in fifteen minutes after a long day though :)
